After officially breaking ground back in February, site prep work at YOTELPAD Miami has now begun in earnest. With heavy machinery on-site, it will not be long now before excavation gets underway in preparation for the rise of Aria Development Group's 31-storey, mixed-use, hotel-condo high-rise in downtown Miami

A joint venture with AQARAT, the Stantec-designed YOTELPAD Miami will be the first of its kind on the East Coast. As for the hotel-condo split, there will be 222 YOTEL-branded "CABINS," or hotel rooms, alongside 231 "PADS," or condo suites.

YOTELPAD Miami is located at 227 NE 2nd St, at the heart of the downtown core, close to numerous restaurants, bars, and shops, and is well-served by rapid transit. The development will feature a full range of amenities, including a fitness centre and co-working space, with the tower to be capped by the 2,000 sq. ft. "Skytop Lounge," complete with rooftop pool deck, restaurant, and bar.

Viewed above, the tower will be comprised of two distinctly different volumes, each with their own unique material aesthetic. The hotel (bottom) will be much plainer, with a brick facade, and small windows, while the upper-level residences will be clad primarily in glass, with floor-to-ceiling window panes, and a much sleeker, more modern outward appearance.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
