Seven months since our last update, and progress at Albion at Oak Park has moved ahead significantly. The 19-storey, 265-unit, mixed-use, residential tower by Albion Residential and HPA is now all but complete.

Located in the heart of Oak Park Village, west of downtown Chicago, Albion at Oak Park will soon be home to nearly 400 residents. Close to the Oak Park CTA station, and walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and bars of Oak Park Village, the development will be a prime west end address for years to come.

Albion at Oak Park has been designed as a series of stacked blocks, with accompanying setbacks to the rear of the structure included as a way of reducing the shadow impact upon the adjacent Austin Gardens. Adding to its green-conscious vibe, each subsequent vertical section of the tower will be outlined by a row of vegetation, each of which will be accessible via a series of outdoor terraces.

Standing tall at 1000 Lake Street, Albion at Oak Park will come to rest upon a 6,500 sq. ft. ground floor retail space fronting onto the bustling Lake Street commercial corridor. Once complete, a row of trees, and new landscaping will finish off the project nicely, Albion at Oak Park to be a fine addition to the neighbourhood.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
