Two months since our last update, and progress at Phase One of 250 City Road in London has been moving steadily along. Cladding has now all but reached the top of the first and tallest of the eventual 42- and 36-storey two-tower duo, thus giving passersby a good glimpse of the finished product.

Tucked between Angel and Old Street Stations in the heart of Islington, 250 City Road will bring hundreds of new residents and families into the neighbourhood. And, though soon to be defined by a pair of imposing, modern, glass towers, the multi-storey podium base will be eased into its historic surroundings thanks to the use of more traditional materials such as limestone.

Amenities will include a fitness centre, spa, pool, and lounge, while the building itself will enjoy a significant green element owing to the use of photovoltaic panels and a green roof. Stylish, convenient, and green friendly, 250 City Road will be every bit the modern condo build.

Meanwhile at grade, further green space will be provided in the shape of a small parkette, complete with pedestrian pathways, cafes/restaurants, and several shops.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
