Two years since our last update, and progress upon phase one of 250 City Road by Berkeley Group and Foster + Partners is now nearing completion in London. Set to rise as a two-tower, 42- and 36-storey, residential development, the first and tallest phase of the project is now almost completely clad, leaving its multi-storey podium base and sibling tower yet to go.

Located in the bustling Islington district of London, between Angel and Old Street Stations, 250 City Road will bring hundreds of new faces to the area. In a nod to the district's historic architecture, the podium level of 250 City Road will be clad in a blend of traditional materials, including limestone, in an effort to blend into the streetscape.

Buyers will be treated to a generous host of amenities, including a fitness centre, pool, spa, and social lounge. Beyond creature comforts, the development will also come with a significant green element in the form of the exterior photovoltaic panels, which in addition to the planned green roof, will help to measurably reduce the project's carbon footprint.

Down at street level, a large green space will serve as the heart of the development, this to connect via a series of pedestrian pathways to a network of ground-floor cafes and shops that will line the bottom of the structure.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
