In the two months since our last update on Chicago's One Bennett Park, work on the 70-storey tower has been completed. Rising to the tune of 255 metres, the skyscraper is an impressive addition to the iconic Chicago skyline. Located in Chicago's Streeterville neighourhood, just north of the Chicago River, the development is both accessible and well connected with several CTA stops within walking distance. A recent time-lapse video captures the construction of One Bennett Park:

With construction originally starting back in Spring of 2016, the completion marks a 3 year construction period and another addition to the booming North Chicago skyline. Developed by Related Midwest, the development features 269 apartment rentals and 69 condos in a mix of sizes. All told, One Bennett Park is now home to over 450 new residents.

Designed by New York-based architecture firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the design features a throwback facade reminiscent of the Art-Deco heyday of Chicago. The precast, concrete facade provides an exterior similar to Art Deco edifices of the past. The architectural prowess can really be seen across the smaller details of this building such as the metal framed windows and wrought iron gates.

In addition to the tower, One Bennett Park also features a 2-acre urban park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh that provides a nice street level experience with the massive tower looming above. All in all, One Bennet Park is an excellent addition to the City of Chicago and will be for years to come.
