In the four months since our last update, progress has been moving along at the site of 1000 Biscayne Tower and Regalia Group's One Thousand Museum. The Zaha Hadid Architects-designed project is currently rising along the downtown Miami waterfront, and has now reached its approximate halfway point.

A legacy project of the late Zaha Hadid, One Thousand Museum's signature exoskeleton boldly announces the project into the local streetscape. The 215-metre, 62-storey tower will soon become a fixture of the Miami skyline.

Climbing up the exterior of the facade, the distinctive feature will set the tower apart from its neighbours, while internally, the freedom from interior support columns will help free up floor space while improving sight lines for the tower's 83 luxury units that range from 4,600 to 9,900 square feet.

Slated for completion by 2018, One Thousand Museum will bring a high-end clientele to the prime downtown waterfront neighbourhood. The project is part of Miami's current cycle of development-fueled gentrification, on a site that was long home to a MiMo-styled 1960s gas station.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
