In the almost six months since our last construction update, Related Midwest's One Bennett Park has exploded onto the scene in Chicago. The residential tower designed by the internationally acclaimed Robert A.M. Stern Architects will pour 279 upscale apartments and 69 condominiums into a site located in the city's Streeterville neighbourhood, where superlative views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River await.

While our previous article illustrated the early impacts of the building on the streetscape, with the concrete core and the second floor taking shape, the latest photos highlight the growing scale of the tower. A number of precast concrete panels have begun giving the development its exterior finish, as punched windows, metal detailing and stacked bays accentuate the Art Deco styling of the project. Eventually resting 67 storeys above the ground, the crown will implement a series of setbacks that help break up the massing of the building.

The tower won't be the only new addition to the neighbourhood. The project will also include the creation of a 1.7-acre park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the same landscape architect responsible for the popular Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York City. Simply named Bennett Park, the space will give way to an experimental display of topography and plants that accommodate a range of functions, from lawn bowling to casual gatherings.

The official website lists two- to four-bedroom floor plans varying in size from 1,737 square feet to 5,130 square feet. The price for this slice of Chicago real estate will cost anywhere from $1.85 million to $15 million, with the units expected to be delivered in 2019.
