The complex actually looks quite decent in person, especially in the summer when the front yards are green. The dim and low contrast natural lighting conditions in the Street View imagery just aren't that flattering.

At least they didn't go with the initial faux design in the earlier render above.

Historically I'd be inclined to agree, but honestly these aren't much better and at least the faux design had some colour and warmth.

I was actually kind of surprised to see that Google did a Street View update in February, definitely doesn't present as well as summer or fall.
