I am starting this thread in hopes of talking about what the government of Ontario could/should/might/will do to improve public transportation inter connectivity. This includes GO transit, ONR Bus and Northlander as well as regional transportation services, such as the ones in the Simcoe and Middlesex areas. This is about links that are missing that would allow people to not need a personal vehicle to get around.

Ideally, GO transit would be the overall agency, but their Toronto centric layout of service is part of the problem.

Perhaps a better title, that will cut down on future confusion of which GO transit thread should be used is:

'Ontario Interurban Public Transit Discussion'

A quick question for Interburban bus experts, especially @ShonTron:

Did the significant cuts to VIA service in the 90s lead to a boom in interurban buses soon after? Did the Ontario interurban bus network reach its peak in the 90s and early 00s?

Thank you, I have changed it.
I would suggest "inter-urban" or "inter-city". Sorry to nitpick. "Interurban" makes me think of this:
