The contractor has finally re-started work on The Esplanade west of Market Street - not much to do on the separated section of cycle track. However, the City are also putting in new traffic light poles @ The Esplanade & Church and then I think, the street will be repaved - it has some quite rough sections. One day it will actually be done! The cycle track east of Jarvis/George is supposed to be converted to a raised track but this work is, for reasons I cannot understand, being done with the work on David Crombie Park so not until late fall or 2026.

Progress on Hallam today. I didn't realize the bike lanes were going to be physically separated so it was a welcome surprise to come across. With the street being so wide it's nice to see the space used better and hopefully the narrowed lanes help calm traffic in addition to the frequent speed bumps and stop signs.

For those that don't know, Hallam is a former streetcar route which is why it has such a wide right of way, it was designed as 4-lane road.

Those are some very old poles - Service on Hallam ended in 1947 and the tracks were abandoned in 1966 when the Bloor Subway opened.

The boardwalk will be maintained in the winter months. Still on schedule for opening this summer for those venturing east of the city.

Quick update on the new Pickering waterfront trail boardwalk... Panels for the elevated boardwalk all installed, with ramps being worked on and laser cutting for some of the indigenous art we're putting in within some railing sections. Aim is to have soft open for the upcoming long weekend if you wish to come and see. Jul 16 official opening, but laser cut art will come later this summer. For obvious reasons, haven't ridden a bike across to see how good the ride is, or slippery when wet.

Phase 2 is aiming to start in '27 which is the washrooms and opposite (side of Liverpool) spit.

Bonus update: Sandy Beach rd leading down to the new parking lot on the east access to this waterfront trail is in terrible shape - it made the CAA list (if you were planning to explore the area). OPG will be repaving it as part of their refurb project next year.

I wanted an easy way to check the overall progress of Toronto's 2025-2027 cycling program and the expected start dates of each one, so I made a summary table in google sheets (preview below). I matched each project name/status category with the expected construction timeline from TOINview, and used various sources to verify their actual progress (i.e. this thread, Toronto Cycling twitter... rest in the spreadsheet). There's quite a few projects listed as underway when the table was published (July 2024) that I haven't found anything on. Two Wheeled Politics also keeps a very in-depth table of completed projects but not the same info on the current program. Happy to make anyone an editor if they are interested, I will also periodically update it

When there is no link, presumably there is no city site for the project. So are those "last updates" from the TOINVIEW listings?

Harbour Street is a weird one. The city table for 2025-2027 says it will run from "Yonge St - New Street (one block east)." I assume this is a newly made street, as opposed to a street called New Street, but Harbour doesn't run east of Yonge. I think Downes Street is the new street being built there. You can see it in Inview, but not in Google Maps. Though you can see the construction happening in this 2023 Streetview.

Assuming this is the "Harbour Street" project listed in the table, perhaps it's best to rename it Downes? Or "Harbour/Downes?" Or would that be more confusing? And also just a note that it's being done by a developer and TOINVIEW has a Jan. 2025 update calling it "active."

I agree that they should pave the Beltline. There's a few spots (particularly just east of Bathurst) that are badly rutted out with unpacked loose gravel.

I prefer the rutted surface as it slows things down. It’s nice to walk and leisurely cycle without Mamils shouting “on your left!” as they race past.

I've incorporated your suggestions @TwoWheelPoli and @UntitledCyclist - the spreadsheet now lists the streets corresponding to each project name, specifies last update is from TOINview and which projects are by developers, with a few data updates. Some of the street spans have many entries, so the format is Street Affected Start Point End Point, with segments separated by commas. Some of the later NA entries may also have the roadwork timeline on TOINview but I didn't include it if it omitted that bike lanes were being put in. I will review the rest later but I also updated the St Clair TMP with 2024-2027 as it is also an infrastructure enhancement by Metrolinx. I was not able to find links for every project's webpage.

Wow, that would make it one of the only non-arterials to maintain the same name east and west of Yonge! I guessed it would be Downes because that's what comes up when I click the project line on TOINVIEW, but I appreciate the info!

Just updated my tracker file to show Hallam Street as completed in 2025, as well as identified some of the bikeways that could be done this year. If any of you see any projects get completed this year before I get to them, by all means ping me.
