Oh? Darn! So the DP issued last November has been cancelled and the project known as the “Varsity” can be added to the “cancelled project” list?

Site was for sale, looking for a JV, but unsure where that went.
Seriously Ian, the folks who are proposing the Varsity - have put this property up for sale? I thought we were getting near a start date as we are inching close to a year ago when the DP was approved....

There was a listing, unsure of the intentions, but I do recall that they did want to proceed as well, but perhaps not alone.

Real good...thanks Marco! So now we'll just wait for them to break ground soon! Btw, you were being paged by @northlands on another thread a few days ago.....lol

Ayrshire right? They're about to break ground on a development in Calgary. Either this one will follow, or they simply shifted focus to Calgary only. Wouldn't be surprised the latter, tough to compete with Calgary's momentum when you have developers active in both cities. I would suspect it's easier to secure financing down South as well.

I hope I'm wrong! I could see Whyte also push developments with a lot of momentum.

Strange.....click the link and on the bottom it takes you to their "Construction page," which happens to be located in SPark.....lots of YEG projects on there.....so not sure if I buy into your claim. Hope your wrong....lol

Hope Ayrshire starts on both projects but all I know is in the Calgary thread for their project, it was mentioned today a building permit application was submitted.

Pretty sure all their YEG projects on their site are already completed, no?

Perhaps they have submitted a BP here? Couldn't they run 2 X construction sites at the same time?

I don't get what makes the Hat site being built so attractive it is moving ahead quickly, while the other almost across the street has languished for over a decade, other than a bad history and past poor decisions made regarding development of the Mezzo.

"....don't get what makes the Hat site being built so attractive....." - what does this mean?
