I flew home from Vegas on Wednesday. They had cancelled our direct and instead made us connect from Calgary. Despite consolidating these flights, plus the fact that there were people going on to other cities like Saskatoon from Calgary, the flight from Vegas to Calgary had lots of empty seats.

Not too surprised & expect more (Consolidating) of flights ✈️ to continue on alot of Airlines around the World 🌎, including for Canada 🇨🇦 / US🇺🇸 flights they operate✅.

Covid19 pandemic 😷 started the airlines consolidation of its flights through major airport hubs even more & It won’t be changing anytime soon.

As is always the case! Typical over saturation of YYC seats that YEG’ers and other prairie cities are forced to fill…….

Also according to a CTV news article from September 25, just a few days about Air Transat & WestJet are reevaluating their US🇺🇸flight ✈️ routes as demand drops.

This Winter season will see (some) cuts on US flights by Canadian🇨🇦airlines still.

But it will be done 1 month at time (depending on demand)✅

Consolidating of more US nonstop flights by Canadian Airlines through Toronto YYZ, Vancouver YVR, Montreal YUL & Calgary YYC Hubs - as good example : Air Transat Moncton- Orlando route is cut.

Interesting! Hmmmmm…..maybe Porter could use our love for future US flights…… don’t have to be a slave to WJ and Delta

On a more positive note there will be new routes to new destinations announced on or before 27th of October Speculate away.
Edmonton YEG- London Heathrow UK 🇬🇧 on the (AC) Air Canada Airbus A321 XLR plane ✈️ a few times weekly.

As AC starts up A321 XLR service spring of 2026 out of its Montreal YUL Hub.

YEG probably be 1 of the 1st destinations for this *new* AC Aircraft in Western Canada 🇨🇦✅.
