Porter is by far the best option, in my experience. They are usually more expensive than Flair, but cheaper than WJ or AC, plus their Embraer planes are much more comfortable than any other (free wifi, 2 by 2 seating, unlimited snacks and drinks, including booze).

Not really sure why you'd go with another option if Porter flies the same route and is the same price or cheaper.

I put Flair ahead of AC and WJ because they're Edmonton's only locally-owned and operated airline and offer an experience not much different than those other two for a much lower price. I've personally never had a truly awful experience flying Flair.

Yes, last time I flew it was with Porter on a route they serve and it was better, so I would be glad to go with them again. I hope having at least a bit more competition will make the big two shape up a bit.

Porter for me as well. Since they fly the routes I normally travel. That said the Firm has me on Westjet for some travel. It used to be Canadian North and First Air but those trips are now done.

AC, but only because of the Aeroplan miles I accumulate with my credit card. Never flown WJ, Flair nor Porter. Porter does appeal to me though, and in fact I almost flew with them this past summer because of the AC flight attendants strike.

Optionality and flexibility in case of issues would be one reason. My wife was needing to get somewhere and had booked a multileg trip on porter. They cancelled leg 1, and they offered to giver her the next available seats to recreate the trip, It was 2 weeks after the original departure time. Because of their size regulations don’t require them to rebook you somewhere else.

So I think they are great too but people should be very aware of some of the limitations if you must get somewhere. If they have an issue they are much less likely to be able to provide you with a good alternative.

Yesterday I was on the 12:30pm Rider Express bus from Calgary (YYC) Marlborough Mall - Edmonton South/ Downtown & half of the bus passengers had connections from YEG to Fort McMurray (YMM) & Grande Prairie (YQU) on another bus to their final destinations.

It had several stops including at Edmonton YEG Airport stop by the Petro Canada gas station - where up to 3 passengers got off.

I got off at the Edmonton South stop.
