As noted above by @DSCToronto, I think this left (NE) corner area above was done last due to water/sprinkler and electrical connections. Maybe they missed the 3 trees. They sprayed on some grass and fenced it off similar to the two right areas. Maybe these 3 Meadow Mounds will be off limit to dogs in the future?

This is my last bump of this thread for park pictures. I found a new thread:

Maybe they left the bobcat for snow removal if this site is not on the sidewalk snowplow list yet.
I wonder if they will postpone the official park opening today at 4:30?

They used capital letters. I’m surprise they didn’t include that on the park sign.

Pickleball has surpassed golf as the highest rate of injuries… for people over 55. This crowd looks well under 55 but….

Injuries by Sport
Data from 2014-2023 for adults aged 55+ shows that the sports with the highest number of injuries overall are:

  • Golf (22.8% of injuries)
  • Pickleball (17.0% of injuries)
  • Tennis (13.4% of injuries)
  • Weight lifting (12.9% of injuries)
While sprains and strains are common in sports like golf and weightlifting, fractures are the predominant injury in sports like pickleball and tennis. Notably, the incidence rate of pickleball injuries has rapidly increased in recent years, surpassing golf in 2023. Reference

Well ladies and gentleman it's official, we apparently have a "state-of-the-art" park!

If this is state of the art, that parkette on Queen and Augusta will certainly be the 8th wonder of the world.

It is temporary, however...." state-the-art " jingoism is somewhat premature. In a next life it would be something to experience a fully integrated waterfront amid soaring condominiums.
