Are they really extending the Adelaide bike lane the 100 yards from Parliament to Power? I think they planned to do sidewalk work at Adelaide and Power but bike lane in that block seems a bit foolish since bikes cannot go east of Power as it’s the Gardiner on ramp.

Bikes can go east of Power. While motor vehicles can continue on that overpass to access the DVP on-ramp from Eastern, there is no prohibition on bicycles and I've definitely used it to access Eastern Ave from Adelaide on a bike.

It wasn't great, but I haven't tried it again since ot the recent construction though so no comment on the current infrastructure.

I looked into the Eastern/Adelaide reconstruction issue......

With the admonition that the docs I look at are not always 100% accurate and up to date.........the work here, in 2025 shows as entirely on Power Street, rather than Adelaide.

Power will create a loop/connection between Richmond and Adelaide, and access to both from points south/north as the case may be.

Too scary for me!

If still in the state it was in then, I wouldn't do it now. I would have taken the lane and counted on being seen, but the way people are distracted behind the wheel these days I'm more inclined to jog up Power to Queen to cross the river.

I don't know, but I imagine you may see a very small widening of the deck to allow room for the concrete barrier between traffic and pedestrians. There is room, for a 1M widening w/o issue, provided the existing abutments can support it.

• Steeles from Brimley McCowan
• Finch Hydro Corridor from Birchmount to Pharmacy
• Sentinel from Sheppard to Lamberton (including upgrades north of Dovehouse)
• The Meadoway from Midland to Marcos
• The Esplanade from Scott to Market
• Eastern from Lower River to DVP Ramp

Please call out any installations I may have missed and I'll update the tracker accordingly. I marked the East Don Trail (Phase 1) as being deferred to 2026 since final paving is still needed.

It helps greatly for getting from Adelaide/Richmond/King up to Shuter when you don't want to use Sherbourne. It's relatively easy to cross Queen and scoot up Trefann St, or go one block along Queen and up Sackville.

And if/when a MUP is added between Power and Sackville just north of Richmond then you end up with a pretty solid N <-> S route that can funnel Cabbagetown / East Enders coming from Dundas via River and Shuter.

This project notably added a car lane as well as separated cycle tracks. Imagine that in 2025 in the City of Toronto!
