There was a planned international destination that wasn't included in the announcement last month, but believe that isn't planned from YYC.
International as in trans oceanic or as in South America, etc?

TBA or just quietly slipping into the schedule and letting us find out organically?

It's in the Caribbean, and I believe they've served it before. Perhaps it wasn't announced as its going to end up being a Sunwing destination instead.

It was supposed to be part of the previous announcement, but got delayed so perhaps still ironing out the details.

Pretty solid numbers with December still to come

Very solid considering the drop in Transborder. YYC might be one of the few airports to still see overall traffic increase.

Didn't Westjet centralize a lot of US flights to Calgary to consolidate demand here given the massive drop-off throughout the country? Pretty wild change in travel patterns to to see international volumes approach US ones.

They did for a few flights. I don't know how the numbers have shaken out, but they closed some US flights, for example Winnipeg to LA and Vegas, Edmonton to Atlanta and Chicago, Kelowna, to Seattle, and some others and thus people would have to route through Calgary.

Good numbers for YYC, all considered. It’s looking like 19.5M for the year!
20M is in reasonable grasp. Not until Trump is gone, but it’s going to happen.

IMO this is more of a game-changer for YVR, YYZ, and maybe YUL..... I hope I'm wrong but I don't anticipate seeing any Middle Eastern carriers here in Calgary any time soon despite the slots allowing it.
i hope you are wrong... YUL and YYZ already got Emirate in . i think we might get some as Banff could be a good tourism location in summer, plus did you recognize Westjet got approval flying to Dubai like 2-3 years ago?maybe we could have something this time

Westjet to Dubai is off the table for the next few years. The 787 is incapable of flying YYC-DXB direct due to Calgary's altitude which means they'd have to do a technical stop somewhere, however they don't even have the aircraft available to do that until the new 787 deliveries start rolling in - which should be 2028 at the earliest, probably later.

The 789 is the wrong aircraft for this distance. Air Canada is desperately waiting for 78Xs to shift to their long legged routes currently served by 789s to drastically improve route economics by being able to carry appreciable cargo loads that distance. For AC that is also sea level at both ends.
