I don't remember if it was on here or SSP but someone was saying this might end up the most photographed building from every angle when all is said and done. I may have found a new angle to add.

This shot is from Lebreton and Eccles. I'll tell you what. Ain't no frickin F stop like your own eyeballs in person.

Upper Lorne. Wish I had me a sawzall. If it was summer I might have clambered up to the backside of the mini bluff of Saint-Jean-Baptiste that faces Empress Ave which would be to my direct right but several more meters of non obstructed elevation. Ascent needs it buddy.

One heck of an addition to the skyline eh? Those machines for the 15fl tower to the bottom right were hard at work. Most of the materials seem to be removed. Looked like mostly masonry/concrete left and it wasn't much. Site should be flattened by the end of the week if I had to guess.

ANNNDDDDD..... waiting for the other shoe to drop. I am surprised nobody has mentioned/noticed/photoed this.

The paneling is wavy as shit. It's worse than the photo. I am about halfway between Bayview and Pimisi here zoomed in. Easily 200 meters away and it was all I could see. I didnt even bother trying to get close. Just wrapped my day and went home.

It's bad. The sun wasn't even at an oblique? obtuse? angle? I dunno.. looking behind me walking down the path the sun was over the City Center building roughly speaking so it's not like the sun was hitting it from the side and catching angles. It was more dead on than anything else considering the time of year and time of day.

I am on the groomed ski path that runs between the two stations for reference.

Seriously. WTF man. How thin is the material.

The waviness is an interesting observation. Never noticed. I'd have to see it in person to know if it bothers me. I'd be interested to know if that's how it's supposed to be, or if it was supposed to be flat.

It's for sure thin wall aluminum. I have a Van Mark II aluminum brake which.. I forget which grade stock it can bend but its only 5 arms as opposed to 9? so it brings me down a grade. If I bend 90 degree stuff with a lip on the end for flat roofing edges she will show a wave even if I goose the heat on the edges. Shit.. even with no heat and a lip and a bend she will show a wave. It's best for windows and flashing etc. Anything showing 10 inches plus without a seam in it will wave no matter how gentle you are in the fastening. I'm also more fastidious than needed.

It's thin wall material that waves on its own accord 100 percent dude.

This aggravates me. I get it when windows have a wave. If you go back and watch some videos on the constructions of the Burj Khalifa they went though a pile of window makers before they found someone that can make them dead flat glass that doesn't deflect in any meaningful way.

Yeah I found they looked good when I was near them and I always make it a thing whenever I go downtown I stop by these buildings to see the progress. I'd be shocked if this looked bad when all is said and done. I don't think it looks bad at all, in my opinion.

That blue touch on the red towers could look amazing....dare we say 'Iconic'? 'Landmark'? 😅

Seriously, though. These building are going to be absolute game changers, they will give Ottawa a recognizable skyline apart from Parliament for the first time ever. Truly unique with the colours and the rooflines.
 
That sheet has more orange tones while the real materials are more reddish. Looks great either way.

I went by yesterday I couldn't see the wavyness tbh. Checked both the shaded side and the side in full sun, though we can see it clearly on Ponyboy's last pic.

Took a few pics. Looks like about 4 floors left each tower +the angled top is roughly 2 floors in height.

Anyway, here it is from across the street from the St-Vincent Hospital.

Ha. I was at the top of those steps the other day. I think your shot is better without the trees in the way.

Yeah. One landing lower. I was thinking of taking higher shots, but the trees we're in the way.

I do want to take a moment to express my appreciation for the sets of stairs at Primrose, and another at Empress. Would be nice to have an accessible option, as proposed by I think Pat on Rail Fans Discord, the City/NCC could work with the developer of the Fleck House tower on Laurier.
 
You know I have never used that staircase before? I probably would have tried it then but I got pre occupied with trying to find a vantage point at the back of Saint-Jean-Baptiste.

Curious now who maintains those stairs in the winter.
