Could it perhaps be an ice buildup issue and weight caused something to snap? It was the perfect weather for that today.

As far as I am aware it does not have a crossover. The crossover was specifically built at Laird because it was the end of the underground segment. The Ontario line was not in the picture when they thought of this.

I didn't think it did either.
But I did notice one in the tunnel west of the Don Valley platform on the map at https://cartometro.com/metro-tram-toronto/?r=cmf - dated 2021. I'm not aware of another map.
On the other hand, Google Maps does show a cross-over between Don Valley and Agha Khan stations.
Perhaps there's an electrical problem that would effect that cross-over.

I question that, given the weather and photos not showing any ice accumulation. Was there any freezing rain today? AFAIK it's been well above 0, and I didn't see any rain while in North York when the snap happened.

could also have been a contact strip failure that caused a snag and pulled the line down with it.

The maps there are wrong for the Ontario Line.
There is a single facing crossover half-way between Don Valley and Sunnybrook Park Station.
And then there is that scissors crossover on the ramp east of Don Valley Station, on approach to Aga Khan Station.
I don't know where the section breaks are for the overhead on the surface, but it is possible that Aga Khan Station was affected by the overhead damage, which happened just east of Wynford Station. And the position of the single crossover between Don Valley and Sunnybrook is such that there is a lot of single track that would need to be traversed in order to service Don Valley Station and then reverse back out - meaning that headways would be negatively affected. (Although, why they couldn't run every second train there....)
In any case, repairs have been affected, and the line is back up and running this morning.

Over a month later and zero visible progress on the opening of the southwest entrance at Forest Hill Line 5 at Eglinton & Bathurst.
I also asked a station manager and he had no idea. Looks like nothing has happened either at the entrance or inside the station. Meanwhile, the TTC site for the stop still lists the entrance as if it is operational.
I appreciate the building owner may be the holdup here, but it's not like there was a shortage of time to negotiate this.

Just that. We dont have the expertise anymore since its been a whole generation since we built anything meaningful. Not to mention we've had zero experience building OCS. Thats why the poles on both lines look way overengineered

They better have... this is a considered critical infrastructure so I bet they were working all night to fix it

Not surprising given that maps is years old, before Ontario Line was finalized.
Still, Eglinton East, east of the Brentcliffe portal was all but finished back then.

Has anyone noticed the lack on consistency with train arrivals? I just tried to ride the train to Yonge, and they were suggesting 17, followed by 26 minute wait times for transit...I left (ran outside) after 5 minutes because I can't be late for work.
On another note...I've noticed the screen times are unreliable, and trains sometimes arrive early, or late and yes, mostly on time, but its more prevalent than on the Bloor or YUS line.
I figure this is something they'll smooth out, but increasingly I'm finding this transit line unreliable in off-peak hours. Hence why I asked earlier if there's any indicators that the powers that be will fast track the opening phases of this project.
