Sarah Polley is directing her second feature film titled, "Take This Waltz." Filming begins this July in Toronto. Currently, Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams have signed on.

Polley is a proud Canadian and Torontonian so I am positive this film will be set in Toronto. It will be nice to see our city, as it looks now, on film, without snow!

Certainly, coverage of the filming process will not be as extensive as Edgar Wright's documentarian approach to appeasing his fans.

I also wonder if the title of the movie is a reference to Leonard Cohen's song of the same name.

It would be hard to imagine it's not. Using that name in a Canadian production without any Cohen connatations would be highly unlikely. Haha, the Cohen aspect makes me want to see this film quite alot.

this article confirms our worst fears: the film is set in toronto, the title is inspired by leonard cohen, and hollywood a-listers are in it.

Hollywood A-listers to star in Sarah Polley’s new film, Take This Waltz

Set in Toronto, production on the $9-million to $10-million feature film begins this summer

Hollywood A-listers Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams will be coming to Toronto this summer to shoot Sarah Polley’s latest feature film, a romantic drama called Take This Waltz.

The film’s producers are also confirmed to be in talks with comedian Sarah Silverman and actor Luke Kirby. Take This Waltz has an estimated budget of $9- to $10-million.

Polley, who has written the script and will direct Take This Waltz, has made no formal announcement about the identity of the cast or disclosed much about the script. However, the film site Playlist.com reports that the film revolves around the complicated relationship between a young woman, her husband and a mystery man that she meets on a business trip, who turns out to live across the street.

Polley’s last writing/directing effort, Away from Her, a touching film about Alzheimer’s disease starring Gordon Pinsent and Julie Christie, was the former child star’s directorial feature-film debut and earned her an Oscar nomination for best adapted screenplay.

Take This Waltz, a title inspired by a 1988 Leonard Cohen song from the album I’m Your Man, recently made the 2009 Black List, a compilation of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays. It was green-lit to go into production after Telefilm Canada’s Canada Feature Film Fund for English-language production stepped forward, as well as private investors.

Filming is expected to begin in July in Toronto.

Michelle Williams, who has a daughter with the late Australian actor Heath Ledger, most recently appeared in another critically acclaimed romantic drama, Blue Valentine, with Canadian Ryan Gosling.

Rogen, who hails from Vancouver, is best known for his comedy work in films such as Knocked Up and Pineapple Express.

Polley recently took a break from directing to star in Vincenzo Natali's science-fiction thriller Splice, in which she co-stars with Adrien Brody. That film opens in theatres June 4.

Why is that bad, or are you being sarcastic? One of those Hollywood A-listers happens to be Canadian, and if the others are playing Canadians in a movie set in Toronto where's the harm?

my sarcasm was certainly lost in internet dialogue. i love this project already!

The bad news is that it's Sarah "The Pinko" Polley in charge. Look; we're obviously about to elect Rob Ford mayor, so let's not misrepresent ourselves.

(How's that for testing the sarcasm-o-meter)
