South west Greenwood and Danforth

I thought this was the site of Robertson Motors (Chev/Olds dealer) in 1953 when I bought a new Chevy.
However, this TV commercial with Bruno Gerussi (1981) indicates that Robertson's was at Coxwell.
As Bogie said in Casablanca: "I was misinformed."

As soon as I read Robertson Chev/Olds the jingle popped into my head. The cars and the way people dress are what really intrigue me about old photos.

Had you been by yesterday at midday, you've have seen the TTC grinding the streetcar rails at this very spot

If you look to the left of the two minivans, you can just see the streetcar tracks working their way back up through the pavement

Exactly what I noticed also HamiltonTransitHistory when I was walking down Luttrell to take this shot. Did they not tear up the tracks when they lost a line or loop? I'm sure just paving over would be cheaper. All over the city you can see old tracks and cobblestone's coming up.
