I took his comment to mean that Yonge street looked narrow in the picture like an ally - not an actual ally.

It certainly looks like an alley compared to the main drags of most other major cities.

That is just irritating. My best guess would be that is sells better, the higher the unit. Even though it really isnt higher.

Because superstitious people are scared to live on the 13th floor. I've heard of buildings that don't have floor 4, 14, 24, 34 as well..
