Tory Saturday....Ford possibly Friday or Monday in answer to a question predebate Ford also mentioned he has self financed the campaign to the tune of hundreds of thousands...

I heard that Ford is having a $200 per head fundraiser on Saturday evening. That would provide him with an additional excuse to not release his list before Sunday, so as to minimize the duration of media coverage if in fact the list will fit onto a medium size post-it note.

ETA "additional" (as he also has tried to position himself to Sunday at the earliest by hiding behind 'only if Tory does first').

No light rail systems exist in our world because FN is confined in a gated community which blocks out knowledge and rays of light.

The Fords themselves, though, they do travel.

They tell voters that 'world-class cities build subways' as if no such cities ever have LRT, or LRT plus subway. And since Ford Nationites unquestioningly believe them and generally don't get to see for themselves, their conclusion is that LRT = not a world-class city, no matter what.

Remember that photo of Doug in a blue T-shirt with Karla leaning over him? It was taken in Marseille, which has a 2-line subway and ... LRT!

Is it not conceivable that Doug would have seen something like this?

They didn't just rip up the middle of the road, they ripped up the sides in some places! Folks, c'est le désastre de la Canebière!

So, is Marseille not a world-class city? If not, why did the Fords bother to visit it?

Marseille is many things, but even after their Cultural year and the (late) museum openings, etc., etc., it's not a world-class city, whatever that means.

It's still a major city, no matter how the rest of France looks down on it.

The 'world class' thing is not really about being world-class; it's a dog whistle for 'we deserve X, we're too good for Y, facts be damned'. It's what got us the Sheppard line as a subway, since Lastman insisted residents deserved one.

Very interesting, thanks for the insight. I'd love to hear more, if you have the time and inclination!

Agreed, thanks sweetlou. Maybe you can record these thoughts on positive aspects of door knocking in Ward 2, using a gentle voice and maybe some soft guitar in the background, and we can all use them to lull ourselves to sleep at night.
