    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

"This one infrustructure project is not going to improve commute times in the morning" is a bold take for objectively one of the most congested intersections in the city.

How does the Green Line do in this metric? 🤣

    Calgary Transit

It's been about 10 years since I"ve used transit. With my car getting some work done this morning I decided to use a combo of the train + buses to get around. Aside from simply taking forever to get around, this morning was fine. This afternoon was a disaster on several levels, the climax of...

To be fair, the only thing WestJet calls "Business Class" is the lie-flats on their Dreamliner, which are pretty much identical to AC's lie-flats. AC makes it a bit more confusing by calling the 2x2 seats at the front of their narrowbodies "Business Class", and then differentiating it in their...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

The regularly scheduled widebody on YYZ-YEG accomplishes 2 things for Air Canada, from my perspective: 1) Significantly increased cargo volume, and larger palletized cargo that 7M8 can't carry at all. 321 can carry pallets, but obviously not what a 330 can carry 2) Consistent lie flat business...

5-10% is the actual number that connect onward from YEG-LAX. That's not to speak to the connectivity of LAX overall, rather that YEG-LAX simply doesn't serve that purpose at present. PHX is even less.

It's not applicable because it's not true. Once you do US customs at YEG you're free to roam the streets of LA after stepping off the plane, like any other US flight.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

It is, but very little YEG-LAX connects onward... ~5% historically and I don't see any real reason for that to shift. YEG travelers bound for LA itself fill it no problem.

I don't even want to fathom the cost of a train from YEG to downtown. YYC has LRT relatively close by, it'd be a drop in the bucket in comparison.

It varies wildly and they often jockey back and forth. In a bunch of random dummy bookings I just did fro YEG to places like CLT, RDU, and Florida, AC was cheapest. But then to OKC, Alaska is cheapest through SEA.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

AA flies only to its hubs from SEA, pretty much nobody books an itinerary onto AA with the first leg being YEG-SEA. It's not going to be cheaper. It is somewhat surprising but has actually been going on for quite a while. Depending on the day, the way you book, or a multitude of other...

My guess would be no, but anything can happen and an airlines like Flair or Swoop are more likely to make those kind of last second changes than a legacy carrier would. Fares could go up so I'd go ahead and book if it were me. There are a ton of Alaska departures from Seattle after 2100, and a...

Yes, Delta has a big operation at Seattle. Well over 50% of pax on the WestJet YEG-SEA will be connecting onward with Delta. Your existing YEG-SEA on Alaska connects at a similar ratio. Lots onward to Portland, Vegas, California, etc.

I think Air Canada's planned configuration of the A321XLR does not bode well for YEG. To me, lie-flats unfortunately suggests more thin flying from YYZ and YUL to Europe. You wouldn't burn one of your Western Canada-LHR slots for a 182-seat aircraft (14J/168Y) when you could instead fly YVR-LHR...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I think you're on the right track, my first thought would be another Condor-type carrier. AF is a little premium heavy for YEG to work right now in my opinion, and WS is simply maxed out on Dreamliners. I'd have to think the most likely thing they'd do is YEG-LGW but they'd have to drop...
