Taller would have been cool, but the Beltline could use more low rise mixed in. A hotel’s perfect for it. I’m surprised they can fit 325 units into 12 floors on a parcel that size.
I’d be curious to know how many empty parking lots are left in the Beltline. We’ve seen lots of development, but a lot of of those have replaced an existing building.
Yep, Copenhagen has applied for a BP, so they’ll be on the list. Kensington Manor is only nine floors so technically not part of surreal‘s list, but I think it’s close enough we can make an exception. 😃
It’s my understanding CPKC is the issue. If the tracks were owned by the city or province it’d be super easy, but CPKC is always difficult to deal with. Though if the province is demanding full control then they are also the issue.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t the prisons in Edmonton either provincial or federally funded? The only prisons in Edmonton paid for by local Edmonton taxpayers would be the police station holding cells, no?
That’s only one solution and it’s not going to work for everyone. Once you get some of the people housed, what are you going do with the rest of the people where housing doesn’t work?
