Basically saying ‘we must keep sprawling forever if people want cheap homes’. Easy to say that when your industry isn’t required to maintain the infrastructure that supports the sprawl in perpetuity.

Just donated today (I usually donate annually anyway but gave more this time). It's a treasure and we need to ensure it continues!

Fair point, and a majority of that previous Council is not currently sitting so new members should not be taking credit for the grant's success (if they are at all).

They provided the Downtown Construction Grant in 2021 so you cannot say they are not willing to do anything - that was definitely something help Downtown and we are seeing the results of that grant now with the Parks, Stationlands and Falcon I construction,.

Mentions they want to put an 'upscale coffee bar' in the main floor, likely where the Starbucks used to be. A big win if that actually happens, hopefully they can renovate the entrance to the Central LRT to make the sightlines better and less of a homeless hangout spot.

Interesting that it is strutural steel and not wood frame considering the much higher cost of the former. Less sprinklering I guess which would save costs but it still doesn't makeup the difference...

The Empire Building is an idea office to residential conversion project - small floor plate, older building, potential for balconies, etc.
