    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I wish I knew. YYZ have now released their numbers for 2025 and they have historically been the slowest.

2026-27 is $60.50 USD as far as I have been able to tell and what is on the budget economic outlook website. Haven't been able to find reference to $66 anywhere.

Thanks for sharing, we still haven't seen December or January numbers released from YEG (which I find remarkable) but good to get a sense. According to total screened passengers YEG was down a little bit in December 2025 from December 2024. Good to see January numbers up though for a positive...

I'm just looking at what's laid out in this economic outlook section. Hadn't heard that from Nenshi or what the context of his assertion was. https://www.alberta.ca/economic-outlook

half the highway between Red Deer and RMH is already divided so presumably it was always intended to continue. Services are being maintained which is great but crazy seeing such a deficit with what seems like not a ton of major projects going on (although decent amount of LRT ongoing I guess).

The deficit is annoyingly high for sure, looks like for 2026/27 they are using a average WTI price of $60.50 as their assumption. If I was wagering I think we might see a higher average than that once the books are closed.

    Town of Jasper Updates

Exciting to hear the rebuild is moving along and good idea to put parking below ground to hopefully allow for an increase in room count.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I am getting a little nervous about the YEG December passenger numbers. The end of the year tends to be longer but it isn't usually this long and they are verging on YYZ timeframes which is notoriously slow to release passenger numbers. I saw YYC has already posted their January 2026 numbers for...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Exciting for YEG and who knows if this helps spur further infrastructure investment around the airport. From a military perspective it's too bad they no longer have the runway out at the Edmonton Garrison as that would probably make more sense logistically (something I know nothing about).

    Capital Line LRT

Looks like Bay Area Rapid Transit is happy with their fare gates in terms of fare collection and significantly reduced maintenance required from vandalism.

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

A little bait and switch from when the consultation was happening with Prince Charles residents for sure.

Not sure if it was noted here yet or not but saw it shared elsewhere that Westjet is adding a 2x weekly flight to Terrace, BC (YXT) this summer from YEG.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I’ve also found the Westjet hatred bizarre, as I’ve said before. It’s the one airline that is really attempting different routes and regularly launching new options. I guess when they put themselves out there it also means there are more frequent schedule adjustments/cuts. If YEG were to lose...

Indeed the transborder is getting pummelled but better in some ways to keep diversity in airlines with Uniter offering ORD, San Francisco with Air Canada, and Seattle long offered by Alaska. As for driving to YYC it’s a big bump but don’t think any public data has been shared in a while.
