It's an ok design but height appears somewhat out of place in this block. The taller design seemed to complement the surroundings better and gave the tower a more commanding and sophisticated look.

The crane stabilizer 'thingies' are apparently creatively called crane ties, wall ties or tie-ins :)

Look at the two dudes staring intently :) "Wow, look at that beauty over there! Such perfect lines, stunning curves..." "Yeah, and the building's not bad either!"

I've always wondered why from the south elevation, One Bloor East's proportions appear well-balanced, with a pleasing height-to-width ratio that emphasizes its slender and elegant profile, while from oblique viewing angles, the building appears chubby. The One does look slender from all angels...

So they crossed the coveted 345-m mark! Every centimeter counts fellas, if you know what I mean...

Why did Hariri Pontarini’s heart sink when he saw the misaligned fritted glass panels? Because his flagship project became a ‘pane’ in the glass! Edit: on a serious note though, I'm dumfounded how they could carry on with the installation after the first misaligned panel.

I also like to call her 'Stairway to Heaven'... and listen to that track while driving by it lol

Perhaps a minority opinion here but I think the shifted/segmented look is super stylish and not busy at all for my taste; No immediate design improvements jump out at me. Silly joke: Why don't aesthetics experts ever play hide and seek? Because beauty is in the eye of...

Here's an interesting time cue snippet from Johnny Strides latest live stream. Right after Eataly, he talks about watching a video on the top 10 skyscraper projects in North America going up now, and apparently The One and One Yonge are number 3 and 2 on that list respectively. Happy with the...

    Toronto Toronto | Plaza on Yonge | 108.7m | 32s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

At face value, I could agree with your argument. But you do realize (I hope) it is likely a stretch when you consider the implications. That is, the green roof on the condo itself and the green grounds in front (which would be perfectly complemented by the dealership's) would also be considered...

😆 You're right, I'll concede that 'pride of ownership' aka 'This is mine, hands-off" mentality is at odds with with a shared space here. However still beats me why the design review panel didn't at least impose an off-limits green roof on the dealership...

'Red light challenge' from Highway7 at Jane. The massing of this tower must be top 10 in the GTA. The only other project with a similar wow factor for me that comes to mind immediately is Absolute World in Mississauga.

I have a thing about Dante's Peak but would not want to purchase property within the pyroclastic blast range. Isn't it ironic though? Cities with immense natural beauty almost always have a catch: natural disasters including hurricanes.
