Agreed, beautifully done. Which is why I said I wish all condos would have a similar style of minimalist balconies in Toronto, with a focus on extensive shared indoor or outdoor spaces/terraces/patios.

Hi Koops :D I think that is a market research question but have a feeling more people than not would forgo balconies in exchange for for more indoor space or other amenities like lush terraces. Just think of all the money spent on balconies going into shared spaces...just a thought.

My wording was not very clear. I simply meant the architects/builders should opt out of traditional balconies. Balcony infills/conversions may also be beneficial for existing balconies but likely not feasible.

New condos should seriously reconsider the default use of balconies. In colder climates balconies turn into bird toilets and sad furniture storage —unused for much of the year, difficult to maintain, and prone to deterioration. This glazing is what Rosario Varacally 1 Yorkville had in the renderings. Very similar design concept. Unfortunately for 1 Yorkville, quality glazing did not happen, just endless mullions.

This project brings to mind this lakeside complex in Tirana, designed by a Dutch firm. Tirana has such a vibrant, colorful character—I’ve visited several times—and I get a warm, nostalgic feeling whenever I see a project in Toronto that brings that city to mind.

Absolutely! The massing is very elegant. With high quality cladding you are a guaranteed some pretty sleek towers. That goes for every single condo in Toronto. The city would look way different.
