ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Tapping debit/credit on most transit systems is the same as cash fare. But Edmonton made the best decision of going to fare capping rather than paying up front and loading monthly passes, so they could surprise us in a good way (or bad way and tack on a $1.25 convenience fee)

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Interesting that aside from Bow Valley, York Transit, and GO Transit, everyone is down Sep 25 compared to Sep 24, and half are down Year to Sept 25 vs Year to Sept 24 (Edmonton is up)

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

One of the 2nd anniversary news clips said that motor vehicle - Valley Line LRV collisions are down significantly in 2025 compared to 2024. So it's trending in the right direction. I think more of the light up no right turn signs with the word "TRAIN" may help. I can only think of two locations...

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

No left turns from YHT to 66 St (EB to NB) starting Friday. Not sure if temporary or permanent.

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

It's part of the YHT active transportation corridor which runs largely on the south side of YHT from 142 St to 50 St, except for the short section between Fort Road where it crosses over to the north side of YHT via 125 Ave. If they don't want to build the 66 St connection at this time (missing...

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

104 Ave is already shaping up towards something amazing from my viewpoint. Compared to last April: And 2019:

    High Level Bridge

Perhaps worth exploring alternative project delivery methods like Hinge and Bumble.

    Transportation Safety and Vision Zero

I take the entire lane at 30 km/h in the playground zone near my home. On occasion, like yesterday, I see the scoreboard speed monitor flash 35, 40 before abruptly dropping back down to 28-30.

    106st-107st streetscaping

Towards 40 projects are typically in areas with high number of concerns from area residents for pedestrian safety due to low safety compliance by drivers. While they've normally been completed on collectors roads, this is the first one done on an arterial road. While most bike lane and traffic...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

I love that they protected it northbound, but cyclists will still be closely tailed southbound by drivers who don't care that there's a whole arterial a block west.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Cyclists are expected to ride backwards crossing the Ice District parkade entrance.

    99 Street Streetscaping and Waterproofing

Definitely temporary, and also definitely annoying. I haven't used 102 Ave much though ever since I found out 104 103A Ave shared use path existed. Legally crossing 102 Ave at 99 St can take up to 4 minutes at times, the ongoing construction was icing on the cake. Yes 104 103A Ave is also very...

    99 Street Streetscaping and Waterproofing

It's a shared use path for now.
