Northbound traffic during rush hour STINKS. The 45 and 46 enter Kipling at St. Alban's Road, which hits Kipling on the "before" side of the traffic lights, but traffic is insanely backed up at that point. Vehicles now enter Kipling based solely on the good will of drivers on Kipling...

I know that these are just growing pains, but there needs to be better signal coordination between the Bloor/Kipling and Dundas/Kipling traffic lights. It's too easy to get stuck in a bad timing loop during rush hour, when there are plenty of people lining up on Bloor to turn north onto...

I like Cynthia and respect her tenacity - she's as tough as nails and I'm certainly glad we had her on our side in this campaign - but I highly doubt this goes anywhere.

Andrew Young made an interesting point on Twitter. There are people who will vote Conservative no matter what. Combine that with the map of the vote split, where we saw Doug Ford take 33% of the Toronto wards against sensible, seasoned choices like John Tory or Olivia Chow. All of a sudden...

More so than that, I'm not at all looking forward to the inevitable lionizing of Ford that is going to occur after he dies.

Sorry, I realize I wasn't clear - when I said "Ward 5 might have been more winnable", it was purely speculative. I don't know anything about the other candidates. DiCiano was brilliant with that Islington/Bloor office. Holy visibility, Batman.

I can correct you here. Ease of access had nothing to do with it at all. He knew from day 1 that even without a Ford in the race, Ward 2 was going to be a challenge for him. He knew that he had no name recognition and that he would never, ever get the support of the Fords given his politics...

Stephen Holyday's campaign flew under the radar, but it was really cynical. People complained (wrongly) about Olivia Chow riding Jack Layton's coattails, but Stephen Holyday not only did this - he advertised it. He canvassed with Doug and he handed out flyers with a photo of him back-to-back...

I have an immense amount of respect for Ms Baskin for what she decided to do. Even if she was a fringe candidate, making those steps is hard. That said, this was very difficult to read. There were typos and grammatical errors all over, and her age and maturity level really shone through.

He won't debate, everyone will call him out on it, and it likely won't affect his popularity at all.
