Trying to figure out where this was taken? I thought initially Groat Road/Sask Drive, but then thought maybe 114th area. I even went on Realtor.ca to try verify my guesses but no luck haha

Just a very sad sign overall

Really makes me wonder if we will ever have a vibrant downtown at this rate. It seems to be a chicken and egg situation/indefinite loop - need to bring people downtown but also need retail downtown - with neither happening, we will never achieve a level of vibrancy as other cities have. Calgary...

Ideally we need more connectors to make it easy to get to the places east of Gateway and south of Whyte Avenue

As someone who lives off Whyte, 124th street seems way more vibrant compared to Whyte. Maybe because I don't go down 124th as much but I can't recall seeing that many vacant storefronts). It might also be that 124th is not as wide as Whyte which I feel gives it a more urban and vibrant look...
