    Calgary | Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

So this will just be a flat panel with extrusions bolted to it? Was hoping something with more form would be the final product...

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

Can't remember a Flames game with 3 goals called back lol Glad they got the win and glad Zary is starting to look like his old self again!

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Having a football stadium on the grounds would still not solve the biggest problem with McMahon, no concerts. I'd rather they just massively renovate McMahon and have a full bowl stadium that can have concerts. Also, imagine the traffic in the area on one of the days there is a football and a...

Didn't they just do a renovation on the Edmonton City Centre Mall? It was super dated the last time I was there lol.

There was a giant tree on that lot, but it got cut down a year or two ago.

That's how Truman roll, they build twice as much in half the time as their competitors.

The final look will depend on the brick. If it's the monotone 70's brick that much of the Beltline has, then meh. If it's more the varied look of the BLVD podium, then it could be a win.

Great density, great location, towers look kinda meh though. I do love how a lot of proposals now are trying to bring people into the site instead of just doing a massive podium / street wall.

    City Parks, Rivers, and Wildlife

Not surprised there is a difference between west and east, it's like a completely different ecosystem in the very flat eastern parts of the city compared to the very hilly western parts of the city. Also, anywhere near the river is obviously greener as well.

    Calgary's Downtown Discussion Thread

Vancouver's downtown was and still is, much more contiguous than Edmonton's though. Vancouver has very few parking lots left and are at the point where demolishing a 40 storey building makes sense. Edmonton has so much room for growth still that it's crazy.

    Calgary Car Thread

Saw a Ferrari shooting brake (think it's called the FF) driving back from Louise a couple weeks ago, interesting choice to drive in the winter. Neat car, wouldn't be what I spend Ferrari money on though lol.

    Calgary's Downtown Discussion Thread

It is weird how the river valley cuts Edmonton in half, though I'm surprised how the north side of the valley never developed it's own high street. Jasper is close in parts, but is like 10% as lively as Whyte...

Also consider that hosting games in a place like Prague makes it easier for fans in other countries to travel there to see games too, not just about the locals.

    Edmonton hosts the finals? Lame

Sweet, as long as we get the finals.
