    Rob Ford's Toronto

He's just a chip off the old Etobicoke Blues... Now, come to think of it, that would have been appropriate song-title for this thread... Bwaaaah! My sentiments exactly - once I picked my jaw up off the floor after hearing his statement... Would we could purge him!!

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Agree - don't know if he's implying there's *that* kind of connection there. Seems like not something he'd wisely tweet unless he has some proof, so may not be what is intended?

Just from hits in a Google search on 'mid sellin' - seems like a reference to Doug's pot-dealing?

^Pretty much, I'd say. Doug didn't have all the same baggage, of course...but also didn't have enough of the same whatever-it-was-that-attracted-some-FOLKS-to-Rob. Interesting that not all of that transferred either. Thank heavens for small mercies :D

Wikipedia puts it 'in the abdominal cavity', fwiw: "retroperitoneal space The retroperitoneal space (retroperitoneum) is the anatomical space (sometimes a potential space) in the abdominal cavity behind (retro) the peritoneum. It has no specific delineating anatomical structures. Organs are...

Actually, I've found my l'il corner of America to be on a par - or actually more educated/active, politically - than, say...Toronto ;D Partisan politics aside (comic is clever but similar ones can and have been done when the Dems win, of course. Indies like me inevitably chuckle - and shiver...

Good 'food for thought' here - thanks. Good point, that to remain a democracy, there needs to be citizen involvement - a government policing itself, for example, makes no sense. And if an independent authority is established to 'watchdog' government, how to keep them independent...or...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Seems as though he's held a few cabinet posts under Mike Harris and Ernie Eves. Must not have 'made waves'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Wilson_(Canadian_politician)
