    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The whole point of Line 6 was to serve the community by having more stops. The LRT is suppose to have an advantage of being more reliable and carry more capacity than an express bus in mix traffic like the 996 Wilson Express going to Humber College. It wasn't just speed. The fastest way from...

The problem seems like they don’t learn from their mistakes. We’ll see how Eg West and Hamilton lines go but I’m not holding my breath. They rely too much on The P3 to deliver these lines and there’s no building standards across what has been built so far. Any inquiry would be pointless.

I wonder if they’ll short turn some of the trains. Currently the 32A isn’t very frequent not a high ridership route in Etobicoke. Replacing it with a 4 minute train is overkill and hence why they didn’t build this segment initially. Now that it’s a subway, it’s expected to move many riders from...

If that bus was stuck behind a car, a transit only phase is pointless. Unless it’s Brimley and Ellesmere where many cars identify as bus and makes that left turn.

Some bus corridors like Jane and some intersections downtown do have extended green for years. It’s just the lack of funding and commitment and lead to slow expansion.

They might need to keep a parallel service as the stations are 1km apart.

RapidTO: Citywide Streetcar Priority (City of Toronto, TTC)

The problem with extended green on Spadina at major intersection is they crawl through them and it creates a massive backup on side streets.

I’m just afraid of the trains scraping against the tunnel liners if they go too fast with unevenly worn out wheels.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Reading from the only public source, the GTFS open data sucks as it's like reverse engineering the schedule. We can only resort to waiting for Steve Munro to blog about their internal memo as the TTC doesn't officially provide that info now in a easily accessible webpage. The service summary...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It’s for those who need local stops as stations are too far away to walk to. The line 5 shuttle buses will only stop at line 5 stations when it runs.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It’s going to be very confusing. I expect the general to be confuse for a few weeks, especially given the lack of notice. People might not have noticed one 5 opened. All the 32 riders will be confused as the 158 isn’t at Mt Dennis. The poor sole taking the 35 to Jane Station will arrive at Mt...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Well it will be faster than the bus cause the 32 is a sh*tshow from Caledonia to Bathurst in rush hour. It’s also just as bad from Avenue to Yonge. I’m glad riders can finally get some relief hopefully if it stays running.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The roadway condition is too good to be driving 40 km/h. Also the core is fill with drivers trying to make a living. They should definitely cap the number of rideshare, taxis and food couriers to a lower number. These are the folks that tend to beat every light to get more trips in.

The schedule changes are in place but that doesn’t mean they won’t start Feb 8 with line 5 shuttle buses till we get some confirmation.
