Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Part of a party rebranding exercise. Moving from angry populist PP to fiscal conservative PP. He also recently demanded that his shadow ministers justify their jobs. Liberals took much of the Conservative pro-business platform, so this is how they can try to differentiate

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Pretty close to where we were expected to get when this was announced, that 33-34 minutes end to end figure. If so, this may go down similar to the Bombardier streetcar order - boondoggle initially, but then fixed and largely forgotten among the average user

    Prefabricated and modular buildings

20 modular boxes per day, what does that equate to, square footage wise

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

The 30 second figure actually includes all trips taken? If so, that’s the most nonsensical way to describe the benefit. You could use that same logic to describe any project. What’s the impact of the Ontario Line on Brampton buses? Zero? Then what’s the point. Etc etc The highway clearly needs...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

The argument is that with an above ground station there, the Peanut would be able to be entirely redeveloped. There are also probably a good 15 towers within walking distance.

I don't mind the podium uses, because it probably speed up construction by a year or two. Parking is obviously better underground, but if we want more housing built faster, seems to be a decent compromise for this project

Was this approved because it's on an avenue? I didn't realize it was legit right in between a few other bungalows. Definitely appropriate scale all around though 10 Units total. Smallest is around 800sf, largest is around 1,250sf. Units big enough to actually live in

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I think some people were saying 23 km/h on the part that allegedly has TSP installed. Not on the entire line 23 km/h on the entire line would get total trip time down to 27 minutes. Amazing, but light years beyond what we were originally expecting.

Yeah the passenger flow has already massively improved after the bridge opened. Night and day.

Those open bar/patio areas post World Cup are going to be awesome. Such a huge improvement to the atmosphere

But the new 6s as-of-right don't require angular planes anymore, correct?

Love it. Looks like 16 two-bedroom units, a 5 minute walk from the GO train

Agreed - and it seems to be moving pretty quick to me

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I can't tell if this is sarcasm...I think cars are going 60 there, so is the LRT going 50? Or are cars going 40 so the train is going 30?

I don't mind the height personally, but agreed that the units are way too small. The area needs a rejuvination though. For anyone who's walked by, the adjacent buildings on the gerrard side are basically all boarded up. There's like 7 or 8 that are empty and have been for years
