I don’t get what the bitchin’ is about. This is a cool project. I hope it happens as presented here.

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

Moise won by a large margin last fall - the anointed successor to KWT in my ward 13. I don’t think he’s spending his capital very well and of course he didn’t back Chow. I’m holding on to see what happens. He strikes me as naive.

“Spill the tea, baby, spill” - gimme the gossip !

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

I see this mayoralty as a change of the guard. At least I hope so. A couple of recent articles in the press were to the effect of “we haven’t seen the last of John Tory” (I believe that was stated generically) and blah blah blah, while I choose to differ. We need new leaders who reflect the...

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

I take Layton’s reason at face value: family time. I do like his integrity. At the same time I wonder if he’s keeping an eye on things city-hall related.

You missed it. Cut down on personal expenses by not necessarily needing a car therefore not buying one.

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

Mayor Chow should come storming out of the gates with a big surefire thing: massive attention to transit. Hit the town up with expanded service, new buses galore, more transit lanes, the works. Mayor Chow should get cars off the road by giving her constituents a good alternative. The previous...

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Long standing abuse of this city by the provincial government (especially under Harris); the city needs some autonomy. Quite often the province ignores urban realities, and then ugly political turf wars ensue. This really is one of Toronto’s big issues - I wish it were on the radar. I’m...

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Captured my thoughts. Even though his time is up, I’m left wondering what Tory thought he had to offer as mayor of Toronto. Some people run because they can win, and pretty much that’s all.

    2023 Toronto Mayoral by-election

The contrast to the recent predecessors is amazing. Chow is a person who has overcome great personal difficulties. Tory had a silver spoon at birth. Ford was the brother of a drug dealer. I guess Ford had a different kind of spoon. Miller was a leftist lawyer. Lastman was an appliance...

    2023 Toronto Mayoral by-election

I am very pleased with Olivia Chow’s victory. For many reasons, of course, but my top reason is the symbolic one: a kick in the shins to the old guard.

    2023 Toronto Mayoral by-election

^ This thread has gone sideways (again) but heck, as a person with an unusual name I’ve had to put up with all sorts of mispronunciations. I’ve done my best to pronounce others’ names properly as a result. Keep being respectful. Btw I speak four languages, all fluently,

Those markings are called diacritics. They are used in many languages. We have many languages in Toronto.

I temporarily forgot that our planners do not have architectural control. How could I forget that? I have a stunning view of Aura from my place. It’s a bad situation.
