GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Very interesting but unfortunate. Is there a way to remove the speed restriction or is this something non-negotiable imposed by Transport Canada?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

@Northern Light The Eglinton TOday page has been updated with some stakeholder meeting group summaries that include project updates. In the January update there is a grainy presentation slide with an updated map. It appears to show the four lane cross section extended east from Bathurst to...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Two-way cycle track on Roselawn/ Elm Ridge from east side of Allen Road to Marlee and two-way cycle track on Marlee from Roselawn to Eglinton. https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/get-involved/public-consultations/infrastructure-projects/beltline-trail-gap-project/

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

All good stuff, but disappointing EglintonTOday did not make it on to the agenda. It has been bumped to early May. I give staff credit for moving forward with converting Jones to a cycle track despite parking loss and negative resident feedback. The upcoming roadwork is the perfect opportunity...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Completely agree on this. Taking the train to West Harbour from Union is great, except that it takes ~80min because most of the trip is spent accelerating and decelerating due to the relatively close spacing of stations the whole way and use of diesels hauling 12 bi-level cars. The train trip...

    VIA Rail

From VIA's Corporate Plan/Budget released October 2023. It shows VIA was allocated $490m for infrastructure investments including reducing bottlenecks 3 years ago and they've spent less than 2% of the allocated funds so far. Are they advancing any projects...

I hope they scrape all that white paint off the heritage facades. The tower setbacks are pretty small to the north and east, less than 6m.

So has there been any planning/engineering work going on since the Feds' offer or have Milton Line improvements been completely stalled for 2+ years?

    370 Dundas West/133-147 Beverley/ 41 D’Arcy

I seem to recall these were owned by TCHC? This could just be part of their initiative to transfer small sites to non-profits. The submitted applications are only minor variances and a consent to sever.

Is what we saw in the photo the final product or does it look different after absorbing?

With University needing resurfacing, was there no way to integrate/ future proof for University Park?

How the hell were they allowed to paint this designated heritage building bright orange? Abomination!

2512R Yonge Street (Future Development Site)

My understanding is that the adjacent private school was renting the open space from the Orange Hall and using it as their only at-grade play space, and they subsequently purchased it.

The corner is rounded in the rendering. The brick treatment on that corner looks hideous in the photos.
