The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons used to do this in the early 2000s specifically for peanut (and maybe some other) allergies. In retrospect I'm sure it wasn't fun for my parents to explain to 10 year old me that I suddenly wasn't able to have donuts anymore (My mum used to take me and my brother to Tims as a treat...

Meanwhile we must preserve every single sacred single detached home next to a subway line along the Danforth 🙃

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

"Interim terminal facilities" does not sound promising in terms of making the passenger experience any better.

Making new buildings livable, instead of just letting them be maximized for profit at the expense of the future residents, would upset developers so it'll never happen in this province 🙃 .

Regarding consolidation of City office spaces, yes there's a lot working out of City Hall and Metro Hall, but there's still plenty of staff based out of North York Civic Centre and Scarborough Civic Centre. This will be essentially the third pillar in terms of major suburban office sites...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

Honestly, a truly strange store/location pairing. Hopefully we get something better as a replacement.

So turns out Simons expanded into Halifax literally yesterday lol. Also their CEO has said Toronto and Vancouver are underserved by their stores, so they're almost certainly looking at options in Toronto. What those options are though, idk.

City of Toronto - Affordable Housing Master Thread

I can't wait for the insane NIMBY excuses why nothing can be built here lol.

Sadly, I think we all know "THE RAINBOW LIGHTS ARE CORRUPTING THE CHILDREN" is coming in June 🙃 And while I hate the general corporatization of Pride, TD has been the main sponsor for years, so hopefully they'll keep those rainbow lights up.

I can't wait for this to be a "beloved community parking lot" (plz ignore the lack of actual parking) now that they want to build housing here 🤣

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

I was looking at the Star article about this and there was a comment that I think sums up the opposition: "why don't they just go to their friends' backyards instead?" And I don't think it was poorly intentioned, but it shows how a subset of people in Toronto don't realise how many people don't...

    Toronto Ridiculous NIMBYism thread

I bet most of the people who signed the petition A) own homes, and B) don't live in the area and just don't want to give up cheap parking.

    Simons

You'd think they could have at least put one at Yorkdale if Oxford was going to be difficult. Instead they made it difficult for anyone in Toronto to shop there. Ugh. Simons is the single thing I miss the most about living in Ottawa.

    Toronto 10 Ordnance Park | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | DTAH

Maybe since nothing will happen here until the OL is at least mostly built we can get something less bland and mediocre here. Like I am a full believer in having a large open-lawn space, but there needs to be more than that in a park this size. Bring back the swimming pool tbh.
