    Toronto Toronto | One Front | 170.86m | 49s | Larco | a—A

Saw this in the zoning approvals article on the front-page this morning. I am mostly surprised that they eliminated the hotel portion. Seems like a really odd situation given the absolute boom of the hospitality industry in Canada at the moment and the A+++ location this would be for a hotel...

TSP is still an issue even if it is not the only issue. But yeah if light rail vehicles cannot reach the desired speeds on this line, then we should just send the vehicles to the Hurontario line and use the corridor for buses. The bus drivers will floor it between stations and maybe we would...

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Dead)

Do we even have a Peterborough airport thread?

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

^ Me from ten years ago would have blown a gasket seeing Finch West crawl at 12km/h. I've gotten accustomed to Toronto's mediocrity it seems. To think we were of the mind that the surface LRT portions would be zipping by at 25 km/h at the time.

I figured it was something like this after one look at the plans...

That creek should be naturalized through this segment as part of the plans. @Northern Light am I wrong?

No one involved here is that smart. This is just a happy accident that the circumstances are creating some political headwinds to tackle some long-standing problems. As political actors, they are merely not letting a crisis go to waste, but lets see if they even have the gumption to fight for...

    Canada and the World

More on this conference: https://www.readtheline.ca/p/matt-gurney-we-will-never-fucking It is way more interesting than the headline itself. We are not returning to the old post-war order, it is not possible if America's closest friends and allies now have a de facto Gaullist worldview as it...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

I am catching up over the past year's worth of posts in this thread and this below, wow. So you are telling me they figured this out in Toronto a century ago. Progress truly is not always linear.

The TTC adverts on the Allen are so mind-bogglingly tone-deaf.

We can get Olivia Chow the biggest potential political win by bringing operation improvements to not just Line 6, but also to the downtown streetcar network. We could come out of this with not just one new "rapid transit" line but several, just by making operational changes.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Despite the same width and vehicle, the Parisian trains look much better. I mentioned in the Hurontario thread already that the Citadis vehicles feel like a downgrade on the Bombardier Flexity Freedom vehicles. Which I don't think will help the reputation of the Finch line as rapid transit when...

Line 10 will use the same vehicles, they could be repurposed for Hurontario.

If that becomes the case, then the only serious answer I’m loathe to say is forcing the transfer at Laird until the four parties figure out how to resolve operations.
