It's been a while, but now it's getting busier and busier since the weather is getting warmer and warmer! The irony, haha! So they're all working with the mechanicals in the parkade; they're 75% complete with the framing on the 4th floor of the first building. The slab rebar and formwork for the 2nd building are coming along; it is hard to tell when they will be pouring that slab, but since they had a temporary ramp by the excavator over the winter, they removed all of the dirt over this weekend. They're starting to dig out for the remaining outstanding structure posts.

Stay tuned for more!

What caught your eye?

The fact that a ton of good-quality housing and (hopefully) businesses are being built adjacent and connected to an LRT station. That's my guess at least :)

They poured the slab for the 2nd building halfway and built brick walls (firewall). They poured the last section of the parkade slab, and now they're working away to form the rest of the first level.

The 1st building is coming along like crazy! Windows and doors are being installed right now, mechanicals are progressing, and framers are just about there on the final level! It's unbelievable how much has been done over the winter!

Here's another monthly update! They completed the concrete formwork for the first-floor slab and outdoor parking. The first set of rebar went in, and then the electrical smurf tubing went in as well. The second set of rebar is going in soon. It will not be long before they start to pour the last set of concrete in the next week or two! The second building's half section is beginning to be framed out already.

Based on the progress, I can guess that the second building will take about 4-5 months to frame out. It will be fully framed out by November 2024, by the time the first building is ready for occupancy, as they're still targeting Fall 2024.

I would love to see this type of development occur on the lands where Rexall currently stands. If I remember correctly, demolition will be occurring this year and there would nee adequate space to get this type of development going there.
