A new school in MacEwan's orbit for the less advantaged kids in the hood would help solve many social problems. Instead of ghettoizing them in low income housing in Boyle, get them acclimated and accustomed to the academic world so that transitioning into higher education is not a big step. If densification is the objective, then a new downtown school is needed.
I don't know if they already have any such programs, but MacEwan is well positioned to interact with the schools and neighbourhoods in the area.

A bit off-topic, but that pic demonstrates the large number of parking lots near MacEwan. I'm especially looking at the old Wonder Harbour space and the huge parking lots west of 109 St.

Have they fixed that ridiculous bike lane design on 5th Ave yet? I can't tell from the photo.

I had liked the original MacEwan design where there was grass in front of the buildings and it was a shame some of that was removed for additional parking. It seemed more like a university than a strip mall then.

I do wonder if some of the surface parking is land being held for future development. So hopefully there will be less of it at some point in the future.
