As of Nov 27, the area was dead as a door nail.

Love the old posted notices for the Railpath as the sign said the the Railpath would be close in 2022 and reopen in 2023 considering we are at 2025 with it still close. Maybe the new entrace will be open to the station by 2027 as it still has a lot of work to be done on it and no idea if the elevator is even working.

Until that entrance is open, work to install Track 1 cannot happen this year to Q2 2026. They may close the the current entrace and force riders to walk to Bloor St entrance as well the pedestrians heading to TTC or the plaza by using the Wallace overpass.

Track 1 partly lay north of Wallace Overpass in roughshape and see nothing south of Bloor for it.

Some photos in my backlog for the area and no idea when I will get to them.

As it has been for the last year, on and off.

I am all for conservative staging of trades, but the Randall entrance has been managed pretty much like a hobby project - something is done once in a while, when the Leafs and Jays aren't playing. If we think of it.

It was very rare to find crews on site this year when I was there

What about the timeline for the pick off / drop off loop for the station, just at the parking lot off Dundas, North of Bloor? Looks like its still under construction and doesn't show up when you Uber to the UP Express

I’ve been staring at this diagram for the longest time and am embarrassed that I cannot for the life of me figure out where Bloor st (the UP Express entrance) is in relation to this diagram.

Is the Bloor st entrance supposed to eventually connect to the TTC subway platform?

Can someone smarter than me explain the diagram? lol *facepalm*

Bloor GO station has two underground passages between the platforms, but they do not connect to each other.

The entrance from Bloor Street is attached to one of these. The other is further north and will connect to both the TTC connection and the new entrance from the rail path. It currently connects to the exit to the passenger pick up loop. This latter underground area is the one in the diagram you attached.

To get from the Bloor Street entrance to the TTC connection, you would need to go up to ground level, walk north along a walk north along a platform, and then back down.

Oh thank you for explaining… I had no idea this was the case!

So am I correct in thinking the TTC connection mainly beneficial for anyone north of bloor, headed south (say along Perth/railpath etc)?

Whereas for someone headed west along bloor (from say the Symington/Perth side) it would likely be more efficient to just continue on street level to the TTC entrance at Dundas/bloor rather than detour via this new metorlinx connection?

My prediction of the first city tv news coverage of the opening: passengers with luggage complain about the lack of escalator and the long wait for the elevators.
A week after opening, another news segment talking about the already broken down elevators….

To make it most clear, red is what is approximately what is shown in the pdf you shared. In green is the new Randolph entrance and the two Bloor entrances, which were not shown.

I hadn't realised the new tunnel would connect to the exit near Randolph. That's a huge upgrade for that neighbourhood!

It's a shame that you'll have to go up and down from the main entrance to Bloor station to get to the subway. Probably still faster than walking all the way to Dundas though.
