Good to see Air Canada hasn't completely moved away from Calgary.
The reconfig is just swapping a row of J for two rows of Y. Seems like the seat is remaining the same. They're keeping the service the same too with free beer/wine. Seems like Rouge is now just for contract negotiation purposes and there'd be almost no difference otherwise.CUN and PVR will be on Rouge, but that won't have the most noticeable impact immediately as I don't imagine they'll get most 737s repainted and reconfigured this quickly. For all intensive purposes they'll just be regular Air Canada with a Rouge callsign for the next little bit.
Rouge not having A320 family Rouge layouts will make a huge difference for me. Sitting in the back of a rouge A321 from Toronto to Victoria was a harrowing experience. The reconfig is just swapping a row of J for two rows of Y. Seems like the seat is remaining the same. There won't be anymore Rouge planes essentially. They're basically keeping Rouge to utilize better FA rest and cost. They're also changing the Rouge livery to be a small one on the side of plane, likely in anticipation it'll be negotiated out in the next contract.Rouge not having A320 family Rouge layouts will make a huge difference for me. This is huge, didn't see it coming at all. Did not expect ME3 here in 2026.![]()
