Hard to tell from the photo but please tell me this isn't similar to the cheap cladding they used across the street for their project at the corner of 5th St with the Gelato shop in it?
It looks like the same cheap material. Something that feels like an unfortunate trendHard to tell from the photo but please tell me this isn't similar to the cheap cladding they used across the street for their project at the corner of 5th St with the Gelato shop in it?
I'm sick of it as well. It's going to age so poorly.I am so sick of this cheap, artificial-looking cladding. I know it's liked here, but the example from Mission Landing isn't my favourite either. It just feels flimsy and cheap. It's got to the point where I've really begun to appreciate exposed concrete on building exteriors. I used to strongly dislike Brutalism and 60s-70s concrete commercial/municipal buildings, but they're much more solid and aesthetically pleasing to me than the current cladding trends. My favourite is always red brick but I've long let that dream go.
I walked by this today and noticed that in the right light, it looks like that black cladding has some sort of sweet sugary stuff poured all over it. Is there usually a film on it that they remove once it's all installed?
That is what is said every time a garbage material is installed instead of the higher quality material shown in the rendering lol. There could be a film over top of the material. It might look better once the film is removed
Well, one exception I can think of is the hardie board Truman likes to use on their projects, it always goes in with the boards and trim unpainted and everyone is shocked until they paint it as usualThat is what is said every time a garbage material is installed instead of the higher quality material shown in the rendering lol.
