Let’s think about this: the election is next May……Saddlebags Smitty will have to break ground on this before then before the new NDP government wins the next election by a landslide…..at which point they may wish to restart the SW Hospital by then…….which we all agree is the ultimate wish list for YEG’ers

Not next May - the UCP extended the required election date beyond 4 years to the fall (Oct) 2027.

Yes, a lot things could change after the election.

Well maybe we could see a lrt expansion towards the hospital and beyond? Okay i admit i'm just dreaming but that's about the only way that I can remain positive about the hospital location.

The only way a new hospital can be finally be constructed would be the NDP back in power. But even then, that's no guarantee if Nenshi becomes the next Premier.

Having a new Stollery built in conjunction with a new south Edmonton hospital could be a good solution. It would be near the new transit line and also in an area with good road connections and more room for parking.

Get a look at all these hospitals being built across Canada…..but only the Red Deer hospital makes the list because Saddlebag's Smitty won’t commit to spending a nickel on our healthcare…..

Pretty sad when others are building so many new hospitals. 14 billion for one is pretty massive. Number 44 is my firms project and also my brother is a pm on it for the health authority. Funny to see Darlington refurbishment, I looked at the precon docs a couple of years ago. But more importantly I worked on the original units 1 and 2. And back then the final price was 12b. Killed Ontario Hydro.
