I saw the news with the family of the 13-year-old out at 11:30 pm who started a fight and was fatally stabbed at the courthouse, blaming the justice system for his death.
I don't know why it has to be free for everyone. Going back to my recent experience in Manila, the population in that City and the people that use the LRT there still pay a small fee starting at 50 cents up to about a dollar. Instead of going for a freebie why can't we at least do something like that where money is still being earned but it is a whole lot cheaper but in turn I can see way more people riding the train instead of driving. There they have the gates to tap in and tap back out again.Well those who want transit to be free for everyone would probably not feel positively about fare gates. I feel that may be his real issue with them.
Yes, most people can pay a reasonable amount. Our city already does have considerably lower rates for low income people, perhaps not the same as there but a somewhat similar idea. Maybe that needs to be publicized more or made more accessible.I don't know why it has to be free for everyone.
