I wonder if that will be a site for affordable housing. It's a city owned parcel as a former police parkade. Alternatively with the other side of the block burned out this whole site is ready for new life. Hope this one doesnt add to the blank spaces in the east village for long.

Was it a city parkade, or owned by the police association? I thought the later, but can't say either way with anything like certainty.

Edit: from 2012 ish to 2022 ish it had Calgary Parking Authority Branding after the Courthouses moved west and the Police HQ moved to the NE. Land hasn't switched hands since 1981.

Unfortunately, there is nothing current for that parcel. There was a proposal a while back for this property. I can't find it on SRC though....it might have been back in the SSP days.

This is a shame. That old building was a bit ratty, but still better than an empty lot, especially in such a prime location. There's now two empty lots along that stretch of 26th.
