    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Canada signed a free trade agreement with the EU a few years ago. Canadian content requirements would breach that agreement.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Amsterdam North-South line was 98% complete for 8 years while deficiencies with Centraal station were fixed: opening was originally planned for 2011 but it actually opened in 2018.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Indeed. Actually installing the doors is cheap. Last time I saw a breakdown (IIRC Miller was mayor) a lot of the cost was asbestos removal, structurally reinforcing the platform edges, running electrical and network conduit, and fire/smoke handling improvements for the tunnel. Spadina extension...

Drum called it illegal. It isn't. I made the correction without expecting an argument. I made the correction because Canadians are regularly confused over Canadian law; sometimes quoting US law or even fictional sitcom/movie law. I also specifically pointed out it was a dick move when I said it...

You call it stupid and terrible public relations for their employer. But it's no more illegal for them to stand on public land than it was for you to stand on public land.

What was he doing that was illegal? Standing in someones view is not illegal, nor is being annoying. It's a long long way from criminal harassment which is the closest charge I can think of. AFAICS You were two people, both doing things that weren't illegal but annoyed the crap out of the other.

    Toronto Toronto | The Hill Condos | 154.9m | 50s | Metropia | Arcadis

I've not struggled to merge into traffic for a block when cycling through construction. I understand the annoyance and desire to reduce street closures but construction sites are low speed and pretty safe if you take your lane.

No. Prices shown are for remaining units. All the smallest ones are sold. Still asking $2k/sqft though,

Last wall of those end buildings is gone now.

Between the capability of a typical developer and the developer of Forma is a Great Gulf.

    Toronto Toronto | Quayside: Timber House | 49.2m | 12s | Dream | David Adjaye

Running, or even walking long distances, on concrete is hard on your joints (knees, ankles, hips) as the surface has little to no give. Shoes help but it's hard to make a shoe soft enough to compensate for concrete without causing plantar fascia problems, and they're not very durable. Running on...

Looks like they're setting up the construction office today. (Taken by a friend, posted with permission).

    100 Metre List

End of year round up. Toronto: 124 buildings (91 built + 33 under construction) Mississauga and Vaughan: 22 buildings (11 built + 11 under construction). Given very weak condo sales downtown Toronto and stronger sales in the suburbs (lower prices per sqft), it'll be interesting to see what...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Most automated snow-melt systems are temperature based, not precipitation based.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

It will where it can improve train operations, like Union.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

To be clear, does this include the tap-off then tap-on during the transfer at Union? I don't think I've done a rail-rail transfer on GO, just rail-bus-bus. It's a lot of taps but even long duration trips don't seem to get confused if you tap-on/off for each vehicle.

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

I've found it very useful in places where the character set isn't one i use regularly. If I'm looking at where I am on a map, and found where I am going, the next stop is a much more immediate confirmation of direction than the line terminus.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Agreed. The Queens Quay tunnel arm-gate seems to be durable and likely just as effective.

Each one of them gets a green space: EV plugs at every parking space.
