    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Lots of people up in arms over this story, but it's not quite what the papers portray it as. This guy's numbered corporation was paying his rent on his behalf (probably part of some tax avoidance strategy) and the company got audited, leading the CRA to throw the book at him. The guy himself (ie...

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

It seems Toronto Life's "best restaurants" program is certainly available for purchase by sponsors, at least judging from their beer and wine offerings.

I think they’re causing some minor disruption to U of T students and profs (my FIL is one, and his building was closed one day). But not enough that they couldn’t hold their huge science fair on the weekend without any issue.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

The heavier ones are also outside the effective limits for all the guardrails lining highways. They're designed for 5,000 lbs. And god knows what they'll come up with to protect pedestrians from EVs in front of Union Station :)

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

If the Gardiner is too full because of construction and you can’t provide more Gardiner capacity, providing better streetcars (and Go service) is the obvious solution.

They’re an alternative to the Gardiner if you’re going from Leslieville to Roncesvalles.

There's probably just more opportunity to get up to higher speeds on Mississauga's suburban streets than Toronto's more urban streets.

The WT people seem to like Jack Landau and have him down there regularly to take nice pictures and write something up. He's basically on their PR team.

There's a door to door streetcar from this guys house to his workplace, and instead of taking that hour to read, rest, chat with friends/family, or do whatever else he wants, he complains to CP24 about how long it takes for him to drive.

Seaton Village / Koreatown / Christie Pits

I've had breakfast there many times. I wouldn't describe it as "great" but it's fine, and fun.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

They bunch up only in that the distance of the headway gets smaller but the time of the headway remains consistent. (ie The trains are closer together to maintain the three minute gap between them.) Obviously it’s more complex in practice, but the mere fact of a difference in speeds doesn’t...

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I think I there are a lot of people in Toronto that have criticisms of both plans. For different reasons, though. Most of them like the broad idea in Villiers, but are pretty much universally against the idea of turning Ontario place over to Therme and digging a huge parking garage there.

I’m more likely to find myself in Oirillia than at Kingston and Danforth. Will keep that in mind.

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

I was on the danforth today for a medical appointment and was facing a long trip back west, so thought I’d head farther east and treat myself to lunch at a restaurant that hasn’t come or gone for decades, but I have never been to. A Toronto legend. Len Duckworth’s fish and chips did not...
