    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The streetcar drivers were milling about at Broadview Station complaining that whoever tells them what to do is making them look like clowns because nobody knew which streetcars were where and where they should be headed.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Instead of trying to brave the shuttle buses with my son, we took the bus down to Dundas and took that across the river this morning. Turned a half hour trip into a one hour one, which is not bad if it happens once in a while, but not good if it happens every four days. Of course, this happens...

I could have sworn the union station Harvey’s has been gone for longer than Michael Jackson.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

I was on a train that left Aldershot at something like 5:10, so I don't need photos! At the time, we lived near Union Station, which means the train is almost always going to be more convenient than driving. That's obviously not the case between suburbs, where the transit connections are...

We saw them setting up the crane yesterday morning. Majorly delayed our trip to school.

How does this fit in with the Loblaws CityMarket a block away?

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

We took the Go to and from Hamilton to stay with some friends for the eclipse. On the return trip there was also a Jays game and a Leafs game, so the trains were packed. It was fine. My in-laws thought taking the Go was beneath them, so they drove. They sat on the Gardiner for two hours.

I would have grabbed a bixi if I was on my own, but unfortunately I had a five year old in tow.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

People can’t exactly stop securing housing, and if an 800,000 one bedroom is the best option, they’ll take it. You can rent for cheaper, but then you’re giving up huge tax favouritism (basically, your second retirement account sheltered from any taxes) so it may not be cheaper long term.

Line 2 was down for quite a while this morning due to a fire at Yonge and Bloor, and I’m hearing of another closure this afternoon due to fire?

I've been eyeing that place, but haven't tried it yet. Maybe later this week.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Yeah, that's why the emphasis on *right now*. Of course, this has been a problem at certain intersections especially along Bay for years and nobody has bothered.

They used those little fobs in the first year or two before introducing the cards. I loved the fob. I have both in a drawer somewhere.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

*Right now* there is no legal authority to use cameras for this fine.

I saw that and was going to post another picture. They really need to assign two people doing this. I get that it's only for a brief rush right around 9 a.m., but the wait is probably 15 minutes on a nice day.
  18. E

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

No, it's not a red light infraction if you enter before the light is red and get stuck there, even if it was obvious you wouldn't clear the intersection. It's a small bylaw infraction.

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

This is true, but it's a bigger slice of the Toronto budget than Bev Oda's $16 orange juice was of the federal budget :) Yes, I know that a thimble full of orange juice probably costs $16 on King West these days, but that was back in 2012.

Kind of, although it doesn't solve the root problem which is that they give you a huge box for a single slice of pizza.
