It's worth noting the following: 1. Covid scheduling, you can basically double the bus frequencies because of this 2. Summer Scheduling 3. Realignment of bus service to other corridors (since Eglinton is a crapshow due to construction right now)

Let us not forget about soil conditions. Generally they want these things in sound bedrock, which may have been too deep on Eglinton to justify a single bore.

It really sucks because Sheppard West (Formerly Downsview) is such a great spot for bicycle parking. It's a shame our city doesn't see the advantage of it, especially in suburban areas.

They partially funded it, and took part in some administrative stuff. You're right that it was mainly a TTC project though.

As someone who's worked on and help estimate some of these projects, yes, it is a really stupid move. There are reasons subway construction is exploding, especially right now.
